Woodpeckers Everywhere Another example of birds accustomed to human contact. Here's some good shots of a Pileated Woodpecker. I encountered it at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary. This normally skittish woodpecker stayed about 15 feet from a crowd of a half-dozen tourists for a couple of minutes. I've also included photos of a Red-Bellied Woodpecker taken near the dead palm at the crossdike area of Ding Darling NWR. |
