The Ballpark in Arlington

Opened in 1994, the new home of the Texas Rangers Baseball Club is a beautiful, fan friendly facility. Its combination of old themes and modern amenities provide a great venue for enjoying the game.

Tip: Fans can bring in a cooler full of sandwiches and drinks - a nice way for families to make the event more affordable. Cans, glass, and alcoholic beverages may not be brought in.

View towards third base side. Shot from the Dr. Pepper Youth Ballpark across the pond. View towards the Home Plate entrance. Camera was atop the large mound west of the ballpark. Action photos are often difficult to capture. Here, I've caught the ball a few inches from the second baseman's glove, just before he makes the out.

Inside the Ballpark. PZ1p, SMCP-M 20/f4, handheld, Kodak Max 800 film. The contrast range was too great - I've digitized the field area to make the photo look more normal. I hope to get a better shot before this season ends. Zonk urges on the Rangers, banging the familiar "boom, boom, boom boom boom" on his rally drum. This game lasted until 1:30 a.m. I stopped at the Youth Ballpark and shot this as I headed towards my car. Some digitizing eliminated a pole or two.
