Breakfast at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens

The Yellowjacket and the Red Spider. Now I know what Yellowjackets eat for breakfast.

These were some of my first Macro photos. This Yellowjacket was large, close, and became aroused as I chased him through the shrubbery. These photos convinced me to buy a Pentax SMCP-A* 200/f4 Macro to put more distance between me and the stinging insects.

I like the Vivitar 2x Macro Focusing Teleconvertor. It is an inexpensive method to get decent Macro photos. When attached to a 50mm lens, magnification up to 1:1 is possible. This Vivitar device also does double duty as a very good manual focus 7-element 2x TC.

Photographed with Pentax K2, SMCP 50/f1.2, Vivitar 2X Macro Focusing Teleconvertor. I also had a Vivitar 5200D flash with a card attached to deflect the flash into the subject area.
